Anne’s unique combination of skills distinguishes her as a very effective mediator. She combines her experience identifying core issues in a dispute with her ability to connect with people to create an environment conducive to resolution. By drawing on her diverse legal background and innate understanding of litigation from her own courtroom and law firm experiences, she is able to get results and effectively conclude lawsuits. She utilizes a variety of communication techniques to manage difficult people and get people talking.
Anne’s mediation magic has been performed on major corporate representatives who never thought they’d settle and on individuals and hospitals in cases ranging from wrongful death actions to sensitive employment and commercial disputes. Her background in commercial litigation is an asset in unraveling the facts.
Anne is a leader in the emerging specialty of conducting divorce mediations without lawyers between spouses open to this process. Her approach tries to find the most “win-win” possible in what is usually a no-win situation. This creates a divorce geared toward the future and on how best for the couple to get on with their separate lives while still dealing with each other when they have children.
As a litigator, Anne was an “AV” rated attorney and worked at leading law firms: Blackwell Walker; Hornsby & Whisenand; and Holland & Knight. During the 1990’s she lived in Israel and served as corporate counsel for an Israeli-based technology company, where she handled international litigation and negotiations.
Anne graduated from Yale University with a B.A. in 1979 and earned her law degree in 1982 from the University of Miami School of Law. She serves on the board of the Greater Miami Jewish Community Relations Council and is active as a mentor to law students and young lawyers who are the first in their family to go to law school. Anne has been a member of the Florida Bar for over 25 years and a certified Circuit Civil and Family mediator of the Florida Supreme Court for more than 10. Anne is also a trained US Postal Service REDRESS transformative mediator and a qualified Arbitrator for Miami-Dade and Broward County Circuit Courts. She founded her own company in 2008 to provide quality mediation services to the South Florida community.
