Past President Barbara Riesberg of RiesbergLaw has been appointed Chair of the Business Litigation Committee of the Florida Bar Business Law Section.


The International Centre for Dispute Resolution (ICDR) and the International Bar Association hosted its 10th Annual Miami International Arbitration Conference from Sunday, Sept. 9 to Tuesday Sept. 11 at the Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables.  On September 9, Jenelle La Chuisa, Partner at Astigarraga Davis Mullins & Grossman, P.A., served as a moderator for the ICDR's Young & International Program, focusing on issues of interest in international arbitration, including counsel conduct and ethical considerations.


The Future of Arbitration: Miami (FA:M) will host a networking cocktail at Segafredo Brickell on Sept. 13 from 6-8 pm, with special guest Jenelle E. La Chuisa, Partner at Astigarraga Davis Mullins & Grossman, P.A., who will discuss career development in international arbitration.  


The YWCA is hosting a YWCA Young Patrons event on Wednesday, Sept. 26 at Ricochet Bar Lounge (3250 Buena Vista Blvd. in Midtown) from 6:30 - 8:30. Cost is $5 for members, $10 for non-members (of the YWCA) and of course 100% tax deductible. Price includes drinks and lite fare.

Board member Jodie Breece is a big supporter of the new charity called "Inspired Leaders," nicknamed "iLead," which just completed its first summer program for high achieving high school students from low performing schools in Miami-Dade. This progressive, annual summer law program with a community service project component is intended to get these "best of" students engaged in their communities and prepare them to return as their leaders. Carlton Fields' Tampa Shareholder Gwynne A. Young was installed as the 64th president of The Florida Bar. She is now the 5th woman and 5th Carlton Fields lawyer to lead the nation's 3rd largest Bar.
The firm also ranked No. 1 in the country for "Overall Diversity," "Diversity for Women," and "Diversity for Minorities" in a survey conducted by Vault.
Three associates joined the firm: Gregory Boulos (Miami), Brooks Collins (West Palm Beach) and Charles Throckmorton (Miami).
