PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
Dear Members and Friends,
I hope those of you who attended the President's Reception had a wonderful time! The reception is my favorite event of the entire year. It gives me a chance to catch up with everyone in a casual and fun way. Since time is so limited I enjoy opportunities where I can mix networking with pleasure, seeing friends after a busy day at work; taking multitasking to a new level!
The year is going so fast! It’s hard to believe we are almost in July already!
I am always excited for my daughter when summer arrives. I think of all the fun she will have at camp making friends, playing outside, going to the beach, etc... A bit nostalgic, I then remember summertime when I was a kid. It was a time to recharge after a hard school year. Personally, I think adults should also get a few months off for summer break to rest, recharge and enjoy some time for summer pleasures. Unfortunately, if that is not in your future I hope you can continue to seek respite in the pleasures of our daily life.
While it's easy to get caught up in our routines: carpools, meetings, business dinners, trips; I hope this summer you find time to do the things you enjoy. Whether you enjoy swimming with your children, visiting your parents for a long weekend, a picnic at the beach, curling up with a book, or simply taking a nap -- whatever it is I hope you take time to relax and recharge. It is said our happiness depends upon how well we keep our lives together. I realize it is not the same as summer break as a child, but it's the next best thing. So without being too preachy, I hope each of you has a restful and peaceful summer jam packed with simple pleasures and stolen moments of relaxation. Trust me, the grind will be waiting for us in the fall.
To that end, while we take a few weeks off to recharge and reconnect with family and friends know that we are actively planning events for the remainder of the year. We have so many interesting and exciting plans for the fall of 2012. We look forward to seeing the rejuvenated you in August!
