PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
Dear Members,
We have had a wonderful late winter and spring at the Women’s Chamber. The February networking luncheon included a discussion of our individual life’s goals. From writing a novel to participating in the Amazing Race, the goals ran the gamut of our members and guests. Those who attended took advantage of a great opportunity to get to know one another and plant the seeds for lasting relationships.
March featured Michelle Villalobos, who taught all of us business women how to communicate more powerfully and effectively. The Women’s Chamber partnered with Ms. Villalobos in support of the Empowered Women Success Summit which was a huge success earlier this month. People loved the panel discussions, one of which included our own Board Member Lynn Herald.
On April 27th our President’s Reception was held at Regions Bank in Coral Gables. It was a networking extravaganza with well over 100 people in attendance. Everyone enjoyed themselves and made new contacts on the beautiful outdoor terrace, with music, wine and wonderful hors d’oeuvres.
We kept the momentum going in May with a well-attended Blue Martini evening networker and silent auction. We also held one of our Lunch and Learn series, this one on business succession planning. Michelle Nicastro of Regions Bank spoke about a topic which is critical and all too often overlooked by business owners of properly providing enough insurance coverage and continuation plans for the key people in any type of business. She will be happy to provide her powerpoint presentation upon request.
June has some great events coming up. The Women’s Chamber is co-sponsoring the Raise the Bar event on June 2 with the Women’s Fund to benefit women in need. Then our June 22nd luncheon will feature Jill Daley speaking on Office Feng Shui to increase productivity and decrease stress.
