PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
Dear Members:
We kicked off the year with our signature event – the Annual Thelma Gibson Awards and Installation Luncheon. The event was held at the historic and beautiful Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables. With over 150 guests in attendance, the event was a big success. People couldn’t stop smiling and networking, and the energy generated by Betsy Atkins’ message to show up and come through continues to resonate.
2011 will offer many networking opportunities geared toward fostering business and community connections. Our next luncheon on February 23 is a roundtable networker with an opportunity for everyone to speak and get to know one another. On April 27, we will host an evening networker at Regions Bank in Coral Gables.
Throughout the year look for programs to enhance your skill sets to enable business success along with personal and professional satisfaction. On March 23, the dynamic Michelle Villalobos will be our luncheon speaker. Ms. Villalobos teaches people how to communicate effectively and powerfully for business. Her programs span all types of communication for business, not just verbal expression.
The mission of the Women’s Chamber of Commerce is to foster and promote women’s economic interests, as well as civic leadership, commercial, cultural, industrial and educational pursuits. It is my privilege to lead this organization during 2011. I carry out this mission with the support of a Board of Directors comprised of a diverse group of talented individuals.
