Building a Better Tomorrow: WCC Edition

WCC Queens we’ve missed you!

August rings in a transformative period in the calendar year for our WCC community. As the back-to-school season commences, we are also proudly observing Black Business Month. At the Women’s Chamber of Commerce, we believe in the power of unity, the importance of giving back, and the immense potential within our children to shape a better future.

Let’s dive in center stage with our August highlights!

Investing in Education: The Foundation of a Brighter Future

In recent weeks, we have been tirelessly working on a series of initiatives aimed at supporting our children as they head back to school. Our community has shown immense solidarity and commitment towards these initiatives, which are not just about distributing supplies, but rather fueling dreams and encouraging education.

Our first event, held at the Nike outlet, provided 100 children with new sneakers, essential school supplies, and haircuts. Witnessing the joy and excitement in the children’s eyes as they geared up for the new school term was a heartfelt reminder of why we do what we do.

Next Saturday, we are gearing up for another large-scale event, in partnership with Commissioner Alex De La Portilla. We will be distributing a thousand book bags stuffed with school supplies to ensure our students are well-prepared for the year ahead. Alongside this, the Women’s Chamber of Commerce will set up a tent to distribute pizza, water, clothing, and other items to the community.

Adopt a Classroom: Nurturing Dreams, One Classroom at a Time

This year, we are thrilled to launch the “Adopt a Classroom” initiative. We have selected six dedicated teachers and will be providing all the necessary cleaning supplies and school materials for their 166 students. This project embodies our belief that every child deserves access to quality education and the resources needed to thrive.

Black Business Month: Celebrating the Pillars of Our Community

August is also Black Business Month, a time to celebrate and support our local Black businesses. Black entrepreneurs have contributed immensely to the vibrant tapestry of our Women’s Chamber Miami-Dade County community. As we shop for school supplies or hunt for the best back-to-school deals, let’s make an effort to support our Black-owned businesses.

Our Community, Our Strength

The Women’s Chamber of Commerce of Miami-Dade County is privileged to serve such an engaged and compassionate community. Our back-to-school initiatives and celebration of Black Business Month only serve to reinforce the incredible bonds that connect us.

As we celebrate this month, let us continue to uphold the spirit of community and unity, fostering an environment that empowers our children and our businesses to flourish.

Together, we are laying the groundwork for a future filled with promise, opportunities, and success.

If you are a Black-owned business, please reach out to your #SheOwned directors at hello@raicesmediaco.com to get featured on our newsletter and social media channels.
