Monica Sarduy, 2021 WCC President-Elect, recently sat down and talked to us.
What is your business?
GOA-TECH, a full-service Digital Marketing Agency that offers: Marketing Consulting, Website Design, Graphic Design, Email Marketing, Search Engine Optimization, Google Adword Campaigns & Social Media Marketing.
Where are you from?
Born & Raised in the County of Dade!
What is your professional/business history?
I started my career as an Advertising Coordinator for the Miami Herald. I then moved on to the marketing side of business when I went to BFG Communications where I worked on the Camel Cigarettes Campaign. I was a free-lance consultant for a couple of years working with a variety of projects ranging from landscape architects to film festivals. I continued on to become a Marketing Manager at other companies including: Coral Gables Acupuncture, 2000 Ponce Business Center DBA BizNest, Managed a Judicial Campaign and now GOA-TECH.
What makes your business successful/unique? Anything you take special attention to or pride in?
We focus primarily on businesses in Miami-Dade. We are hands-on with our clients and meet often in person which makes us different from other agencies. We take pride in our ability to create brand continuity on all platforms.
If your business is female owned, how is it running a female locally owned business? Struggles? Advantages?
We take pride in being a progressive company. Our team is so diverse. GOA-TECH is owned by our CEO Ciro Miranda and wife & CFO Barbara Miranda. I was able to bring more estrogen to the mix as Director in 2018. I can honestly say that I am fortunate to not have struggles that relate to the basis of gender. Our struggles are just like any other business.
Aside from running the business, what are some of your personal interests?
I love mentoring young professionals in my industry. On a lighter note, I love spending time with my husband and fur babies, gardening and biking to counter my most favorite hobby: eating!
