Vanessa Castillo was born and raised in Miami, FL. At the age of 18, Vanessa picked up her first film camera and enrolled in a couple of film photography courses. Having been told she had a “natural eye”, she decided this was the path for her.

She was later admitted to the University of Miami where she majored in both Visual Journalism and Studio Art, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Communications. During this time, Vanessa learned the true visual, audio and technical art of multimedia. Creating photo stories and short documentaries, she discovered her desire and natural ability to connect with others and her passion for telling stories visually grew tremendously. In 2012, upon graduating college, she founded what is now known as VCV Agency.

The Various Creative Visionaries (VCV) Agency help businesses expand their brand awareness and online presence through visual storytelling, content marketing, creative branding and community building, both on and offline. Vanessa’s work ethics, talents and approach to authentic connection has led her to work with well-known companies and brands such as Getty Images, PBS, and Univision, to name a few.

Vanessa has proven to be a pillar of the community as she is currently on the Board of Directors for the Women’s Chamber of Commerce in Miami-Dade, as well as the managing director for the Miami Street Photography Festival. Aside from these roles Vanessa has started an initiative called “The Rich Girl Mindset”, a women’s empowerment platform that is designed to help women step out of their comfort zone and into their purpose. It’s no secret that Vanessa wears many hats but whichever hat she wears, she wears it with passion.
